A 3 kg box is being pulled along a horizontal surface with a constant force. If the force stays the same but a boxed 2 kg mass is placed on top of the 3 kg box, what will happen to the motion of the stacked boxes?

    The motion/acceleration of the box will reduce by half giving that the force of pull is constant

    Explanation:

    Actually the tension/pulling force is equal to the Mass times the acceleration due to gravity of the body I. e

    Tp=m*a

    Where Tp = tension force/pull

    m=mass of the body

    a = acceleration due to

    gravity

    If we keep Tp constant and increase m by adding 2kg then we have

    Mathematically

    Tp = (2+m) * a

    a=Tp / (2+m)

    Hence the motion will be reduced by half.
