    Explanation: Circular orbits were introduced by the heliocentric theory.

    Were the circular orbits are introduced by the "perfection" of the shape, and because by the observations the scientifics of the time knowed that the orbits were circle like, so assuming that the orbits were perfect circles had sense, so the fact that the earth was round has nothing to se with this.
