An eagle is flying horizontally at a speed of 3.00 m/s when the fish in her talons wiggles loose and falls into the lake 5.00 m below. Calculate the velocity of the fish relative to the water when it hits the water.

    As water is still so the velocity of fish with respect to water is same as 10 m/s.

    Explanation:

    Initial velocity of fish in vertical direction, u = 0

    h = 5 m

    g = 10 m/s^2

    Use third equation of motion

    V^2 = u^2 + 2 g h

    V^2 = 0 + 2 * 10 * 5

    V^2 = 100

    V = 10 m/s
