If the north pole of a magnet is inserted into a solenoid, a Current will be induced in the solenoid. If the magnet is flipped over so that the south pole of the magnet is inserted into the solenoid, the induced current in the wire will flow in the opposite direction.

    Explanation:

Law of electromagnetic induction states that an emf is induced when a conducting coil is kept in a changing magnetic field. Due to this, current is produced in the coil. Solenoid is formed when a current carrying coil is used as an electromagnet. When current is passed through the coil, a magnetic field in produced around it. The arrangement can be used in another way. When a magnet is run into the coil, a current is induced. When poles of the magnet is reversed, then inserted, the direction of current reverses.
