A ball with a mass of 500g is lifted to a shelf 2 meter above ground. Calculate for the gravitational potential energy gained by the ball

    500 grams = 500 grams * [1 kg/1000 grams] = 0.5 kg h = 2 meters g = 9.81

    Formula

    PE = m*g*h

    Solution

    PE = 0.5 * 9.81 * 2

    PE = 9.81 Joules
