The answer is both yes and no. The difference is so small you could never measure it. But technically the light would get there first so you would see the clap before hearing it.

Explanation:

The speed of light is 299,000,000meters per second or so.

The speed of sound is 340.29meters per second again give or take.

That being said if you could measure such a small gap between the 2 at that short of a distance it would be amazing.

No. Your friend will not hear the clap when he/she sees it.

It takes time for sound waves to go through a large area. It takes longer if people are in the area rather than it is empty.
