Leah has a mass of 50kg and is using a 3.4m ladder. The acceleration is equal to 9.8 meters per second squared. What force, in Newtons, does Leah exert on the ladder when she is standing on it?

    We don't really care what size the ladder is. All we need to figure out is the quantity that most people call her "weight".

    Weight = (mass) x (gravitational acceleration)

    = (50 kg) x (9.8 m/s²)

    = 490 Newtons.

    (about 110.2 pounds)
