    C. carbon cycle. The carbon cycle is the biogeochemical cycle by which carbon is exchanged among the biosphere, geosphere and atmosphere of the earth. Carbon is present in living organisms and when they die they get decomposed and after a long period of time fossils are formed out of dead living organisms that get buried deep within the earth's soil. This is an example of carbon moving from living to nonliving parts, as part of the carbon cycle.
