Explain how changes in temperature affects the particles motion of a substance.

    When you add heat energy to a substance, it gets stored in the form of the kinetic energy of the particles, and that means they move faster. Even if they don't go anywhere, like in a liquid or a solid, they still vibrate in their places, and when heat energy comes in, the particles vibrate faster.
