Can you compare how a drum and headphones produce sounds of higher pitch and greater loudness

Well, the drum can be banged louder and louder, and the sound only get louder because of the strength you put in your bangs and because of the echo coming from within the drum. For earphones, you just have to reduce and increase the volume depending on how your taste for loudness is.
