    1. Find the total distance.

    2 km + 4 km + 4.5 km = 10.5 km

    2. Convert this distance into metres.

    1 kilometre = 1000 metres

    10.5 x 1000 = 10,500 metres

    3. Convert the time taken into seconds.

    1 minute = 60 seconds

    20 x 60 = 1,200 seconds

    4. Divide the total distance by the total time taken.

    10,500 / 1,200 = 8.75

    Your velocity is 8.75 m/s
