Why would it require greater force to start a refrigerator moving than to start a dog moving?

    It would require a greater force to start a refrigerator moving than to start a dog moving because the mass of a refrigerator is greater than the mass of a dog. Basically, the force to start an object is proportional to the normal force which is equivalent to the weight of the object.
