Can a simple machine's efficiency ever be greater than 100%?

Explain your answer.

    Personally, I believe not. 100% is the total, and therefore, it cannot possibly be above 100% percent, as this wouldn't then mean that the machine is efficiently beyond its means

    100% efficiency is not possible, so any greater than 100% is also not possible. There is always some energy waste, normally through heat, sound, or light
