Mass is a measure of how much actual matter there is. Weight is the resulting downward force resulting from the local gravitational field.

example: John has a mass of 80Kg's on earth and 80Kg's when in zero gravity. John also has a weight of 80Kg's on earth, 13.5KG's on the moon and is weightless in zero gravity.
