When a mass is placed on a spring with a spring constant of 60.0 newtons per meter the speing is compressed 0.500 meter. how much energy is stored in the spring?

    We are talking about a elastic potential energy. E=1/2*k*x^2,

    where k is the spring's constant.

    E=1/2*60*0.5^2=7.5 J
