A 1200 kg car moving at 7.8 m/s collides with a stationary car of mass 1500 kg. if the two vehicles lock together, what is their combined velocity immediately after the collision?

    P = m₁v₁ + m₂v₂ = (m₁ + m₂) v = constant

    m₁ = 1200 kg

    v₁ = 7.8 m/s

    m₂ = 1500 kg

    v₂ = 0 m/s

    Solve for v, the velocity after the collision.

    according to my iPad: 3.47 m/s
