A 120 kg basketball star jumps up and accelerates at a rate of 2.5 m/s2. How much force is he exerting to push off the floor?

    Hey! Since we got the mass of the basketball star as well as the acceleration. We can use Newton's Second Law to figure out the amount of force he is exerting.

    F = ma

    F = (120) (2.5)

    F = 300N

    Therefore, he is exerting 300N of force.
