The width of the physical spectrum is shorter than that of the electromagnetic spectrum. The visible spectrum is the light that can be seen with the human eye, which we see as the colors red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet or ROY G. BIV. However, there are more wavelengths that can be seen beyond that, which are apart of the electromagnetic spectrum. For example, the UV rays, microwaves, and Gamma Rays cannot be seen by the human eye. Therefore, the electromagnetic spectrum is longer than the visible spectrum because there is so much more that humans can not see. The visible spectrum is only 400-750nm. The electromagnetic spectrum is 10 to the - 14 to 10 to the 4 meters.
