We are simply given the gauge pressure of the tire which is equal to 39.0 psi. So to get the absolute pressure, we must add this by the atmospheric pressure of the surrounding which is 14.70 psi.

    abs pressure = 39 psi + 14.7 psi

    abs pressure = 53.70 psi
