    (2) halved The speed of the wave in the spring is determined by the properties of the spring. As there is no physical change in the properties of the spring as the frequency of vibration is varied, the speed of the wave in the spring is constant. Hence, frequency x wavelength = constant. When the frequency is doubles, the wavelength is halved.
