    Explanation:

    Bar magnets are permanent magnets as opposed to electromagnets.

    While electromagnets require electric current to be magnetised, and so they can be turned on and turn off, bar magnets are made of magnetic materials and have two poles which cannot be turned on or off and you say that they are always on. The magnetic materials aree the metals iron, cobalt and nickel.
