    1. The formula for calculating the wave speed is

    wave speed = frequency x wavelength.

    v=f * λ

    In our case,

    f=17 Hz

    λ = 14mm=0.14m

    The wave speed is: 17*0.14=6.8 m/s

    2. The speed of the earthquake wave is:

    ve = 5 km/s=5000 m/s

    the frequency of the earthquake is:

    f=11 Hz

    the wavelength of the earthquake is:

    λ=ve/f

    λ=5000 m/s / 11

    λ=454.54 m
