Does riding a bike up a hill in higher gear burn more calories than a lower gear

    Yes. If you are riding a bike up a hill in fifth gear, you will burn considerably more calories than if you were to bike up that hill in first gear. The lower the gear, the easier the pedaling, and therefore fewer calories are burned.
