What is the shortest possible time in which a bacterium could travel a distance of 8.4cm across a Petri dish at a constant speed of 3.5 mm/s?

    8.4 cm = 84 mm

    If the little bug travels in a straight line and never stops,

    then the time it takes him is just (distance) / (speed).

    (84mm) / (3.5 mm/sec) = 24 seconds
