    A circuit can be either connected in series or in parallel. In a series circuit, all components are connected end-to-end in a line forming a single path for electrons to flow, so current can travel through only one path. Whereas in a parallel circuit, all components are connected across each other's leads, so there are many paths for the electrons to flow, so the current can flow in more than one path.
