If - 1 ≤ x ≤ 8 and - 1 ≤ y ≤ 10, then what is the range of xy?

    the lower bound would be the smallest value xy could produce, which is smallest value of x times the largest value of y, - 1 times 10 is - 10. the upper bound would be the largest value of xy, which is the largest value of both variables, 8 times 10 is 80. hence the range of xy is - 10< = xy <=80.
