Life actually began before conception. In order for conception to happen a sperm cell must enter a egg cell because a cell must be alive to function life began before conception. If you want to go further as the life on earth. Very interestingly it is believed that thunder and a happen of chance in a liquid arranged the correct things to form the first cell.
