Why did south change their minds about allowing slaves to fight in the war

    It is because instead of losing their soldiers they said "Slaves don't really matter let them fight while we kick back" but actually like that but if you know what I mean then your golden

    The south really had no choice on their part. They were nearly run down and needed to allow slaves to fight.
