Comparing how the courses of the war in the East differ from how things were progressing in the West is that the Eastern front happened to be more movable while the western front relied mostly on trench warfare. The two powers which were France and Great Britain, they were battling Germany on the Western front while Russia and Serbia were struggling Austria-Hungary on the Eastern front. Precisely the Western was largely in France and the Eastern in Russia.
