Why are we more likely to learn about the early history of the earth by studying?

    the surface of the moon is like a window into the early history of our solar system. By studying the chemical composition of rocks and soil on our natural satellite, we could obtain a glimpse of the Earth's own geological infancy - including the emergence of life.
