Following the agreement was reached in the Treaty of Indian Springs in 1825, Chief William McIntosh lost his life. Why did this happen? A) The was betrayed by rival American Indian who wanted the land he had received. B) Creek leaders executed McIntosh because he made the agreement without their consent. C) McIntosh died of Yellow Fever as a result of being forced to march on the Trail of Tears to Oklahoma. D) The U. S. Government captured and executed him for violating the treaty just weeks after it was signed.
