What happened to the Roman Empire after Constantine's death?

The empire collapsed and was overrun by invaders.

The empire remained as-is for one hundred years.

The empire stabilized and went on to flourish.

The empire split, and the west fell into decline.

    Following Constantine, the empire split and the West fell into decline while the East persevered for another 1000 years and remained Roman in its essence.

    The West was, however, overrun by invaders relatively soon; in less then two centuries.
