The idea that menopause causes depression, loss of sexual desire, and psychological disturbance true for most women. During menopausal periods, women feel things they haven't felt before such as change in temperature, mood swings, inability to focus and so much more. With these, it would be hard for them to concentrate and will eventually feel low.
