How did the writings of John Locke lead colonists to resent the British government?

    John Locke came up with the idea that government had to protect your 3 natural rights life liberty and property the colonists got angry at The King which is Britains government at the time and the king wasn't protecting those rights so the colonists wrote the Declaration which was written by Jefferson with some of Locke's ideas
