Why did the basic labor system change after the war?

    When the war ended, we had an excess of soldiers, so when they came home they needed to find a new job. This massive increase in the labor pool caused a drastic change in the basic labor system as more and more people began looking for a new job, which in most cases, weren't there to be found.
