I believe the answer is: i t is too artificial and needs to be in a natural environment.

The strange situation tehcnique refers to the technique that is used to reduce children anxiety of getting away from the caregivers by conditioning the children with their departure. The process of this techique is not reflected the real situation when parents have to left the children, so critics believed that the conditioning would not be successful
