Most times a person's behavior is a direct response to the their environment as opposed to the overall general population. Oftentimes what is considered deviant to the general population is the norm in that individuals envirionment. Even when individuals are taken out their environment they often make changes to their behavior in order to fit in with the ideaologies of the larger "normal" or more accepted population but the environment they grew up in still have an effect on the outcome of their behavior even if its for better.
