Voters favor one-party control of the presidency and Congress when

I believe the answer is: their party is in control

In the end, majority of the voters tend to only want the people who took control of the government office to had similar principles/affiliation with them.

They may even disregard things such as exprience, bad past, or even lack in necessary skill set as long as their party is in control.
