When a pedestrian walks out into the street in violation of the law, you should yield the right of way to avoid injuring them.

You cannot just run them over, even though you have the right of way. Instead, you should let them pass, even though what they are doing is illegal. If you don't want to injure them or yourself, you should allow them to cross the street first.
