If you were the owner of a large store and you found out that an employee had stolen merchandise from you, would you fire him or her if the total amount taken was worth less than $5.00?

    Yes, I will surely fire him. It is not about the worth of the goods he has stolen, it is about the attitude behind the act. If he steals a low worth good today, he will surely steal a high worth good tomorrow when the opportunity arise. In business, stealing must not be allowed in any form. It is not good to rationalize that what he has stolen is small, whether big or small, stealing is still stealing.
