The correction answer when dealing with the development of self lies within both interactions with other and our own internal thoughts. There is no absolute proof that either is more proven than the next. So the only logical conclusion is that we are influenced by others as we grow but when we hit adulthood we consider those influences and ultimately we make our own decisions on who we will become as a person.
