Does obedience mean that you follow laws and other rules that might not be laws.

    Obedience means to comply to another persons authority. Therefore following laws and other rules means you are obedient i. e. when your teacher requests you to not use your phone you comply and keep it away making you obedient. This is the same as crossing the street as opposed to j-walking. You comply to authority which therefore makes you obedient.
