Sociologist Richard Arum found that 24 percent of graduates in the study were back living with their parents two years after graduation. There are many factors that contribute to this percentage. The young adults may not be able to handle the new financial burden of living alone, they may be unemployed or fired from their job. The Great Recession of 2008 still has negative effects on society and it has made it harder for young adults to have their own home and job.
