The answer to the question above is " Schall v. Martin" case. This case led the United States Supreme Court to practice preventive detention which aims in the protection of juveniles. The Schall v. Martin case happened in the year 1977 wherein Gregory Martin, who was fourteen years old, was arrested. His cases include criminal possession of weapon, first-degree robbery, and second-degree assault. In summary, this case made the Supreme Court decide that upon detention of these juveniles, this should not serve as a punishment before their trial.
