The Tang Dynasty was one of the imperial dynasties in China's history. It was an era of peace and stability for the Chinese. Cultural activities flourished during this time. This period is considered the greatest era for Chinese poetry. Unfortunately, the government began to decline by the end of the ninth century. The decline was in part, to several natural disasters that took place as well as the agrarian rebellion against the government.
