What is the evidence that earth continents were once in vastly different positions than they are today?

Animals in lands far apart are similar. For example India and Madagascar have similar mammals, but Madagascar's is very different from Africa's.

Fossil plants and animals in many places are similar.

Geological similarities between places far from each other (ie eastern South America and western Africa).

In addition, the continents fit together like a puzzle.
