    The three groups were the Jews, the Protestants and the Catholics."The triple melting pot" concept was developed by the sociologist Ruby Kennedy who based his conclusions on the study he conducted on intermarriage trends in New Haven, Connecticut. His study encompassed the period from 1870 till 1940.
