Answer: A. They were all banned at one time or another

Explanation: Das Kapital is one of the major works of the 19th-century economist and philosopher Karl Marx in which he explained his theory of the capitalist system, its different sides and its leanings toward self-destruction. The Satanic Verses by Salman Rushdie was first published in the United Kingdom in 1988 and inspired in part by the life of Muhammad. Many Muslims accused Rushdie of blasphemy which led in 1989 the Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini of Iran issuing a fatwa ordering the killing of Rushdie. The Autobiography of Malcolm X was published in 1965 and is a result of the collaboration between human rights activist Malcolm X and journalist Alex Haley.

The common denominator among these three publishings is that they were all banned at one time or another in the last few decades.
