clarify the advice machiavelli gives concerning liberality and stinginess. IS this still good advice?

    Liberality as used here, means excessive spending of money or resources; Machiavelli affirms that if the prince spends excessively, then it will burdened it's subjects, with tax increase, so he can sustain his life style of liberality.

    With regards to stinginess, Machiavelli states that a prince, who is conservative in his life style will benefit his subjects, by ensuring they do not pay huge tax because of his liberality. Furthermore, he encourages leaders, to save resources, as this will enable them take action, which will be of advantage to his subject and the state.
