In social psychology, researchers have seen how early life events and the early socialization with the parents (or the absence of it in case of the undersocialized-) plays a dimension to change behaviour.

Traditionally research found that crime is highly probable among children that lacked a mother or parental care. And often stressful events during the first 5 years of age will predict if a person was able to cope with life and socialize according to society.

Since undersocialized delinquents have reportedly being considered at risk, they are highly likely to undergo further behaviour problems and they can have a lasting and permanent effect in life through all life.

Socialized delinquents to the contrary, can then pose a better "prognostic" since some other methods for rehabilitation or treatment can generally produce better results.

At least this is the mainstream view that studies still show today.

Efforts are being done to lower the risk of any kind of delinquency and to prevent the lack of socializing for the devastating consequences it can have on isolated individuals.
